GOOGLE the word ‘porn’ and you are met with over two billion results.

While there’s bound to be an array of websites that tickle your fancy, there’s also a load of dodgy portals that can destroy your computer.

Here’s how to safely access and watch the sexy stuff online.

1. Do pay for it

Running a porn website isn’t free so users will end up paying for the content one way or another. Jeff Dillon of Gamelink told that some free portals will “put spyware on your computer” or send your details to third parties. He said paying for content upfront, guarantees a safe and clean viewing experience.

2. Don’t click on adverts

If a pop-up advert appears, ignore it. These commercials could trigger another pop-up or download a virus. Some pop-ups don’t come from websites but from malware (a malicious type of software) that has been secretly installed on the user’s PC. If this happens, the laptop must be thoroughly cleaned using good security software.

3. Don’t download clips

Downloading films from a torrent or specialist video player is just asking for trouble. As with the pop-up adverts, they may contain virus that can access your passwords and personal data. Colin Rowntree, CEO of porn search engine Boodigo, commented: “These are the primary culprits of spyware, malware and viruses getting into your computer or mobile device. If you can’t see the movie streaming on the internet, it’s simply not worth the risk.”

4. Do go incognito

“It’s always a good idea to set up an 'incognito' browser window when surfing,” said Colin. This prevents the setting of cookies and the bulk of data mining about your surfing patterns.

5. Do protect your identity

Porn stars increasingly use social media to interact with fans - but some may hijack your account. Ensure you have a strong password that contains a mix of upper and lowercase letters, special characters and symbols. Report or block users who are aggressive, threatening or abusive online.
