Will these eBay bandits stop you getting H&M’s Kenzo collection? £769 jacket is FIVE times what it should cost in store
THE reason we all love the high street is because we can get the season's hottest looks on a budget, right?
That's why the news that H&M was collaborating with French fashion house Kenzo caused such a stir.
High fashion with a high street price tag? It's every shoppers dream.
The only problem is you'll be lucky to get your hands on a piece of the hotly-anticipated collection once it finally hits stores on November 3, unless you're willing to pay the price, that is.
Hero pieces from the Kenzo x H&M campaign are up for pre-sale on eBay at an astonishing FIVE TIMES the retail price.
The most marked-up item is a women's jacket coat with blue leopard print trim that would set you back £199 in store but you can pre-order online now for an eye-watering £723.57, plus £45.11 postage.
It seems shoppers who can't bear to miss their chance to invest in the sure-to-sell-out collection are willing to stump up the cash though, as several other items are also up for grabs at grossly inflated prices.
This bold leopard spot and red tiger mix bomber (The Fabulous fashion editor's high-street hero piece last week) has an RRP of £99.99.
If you can't bear to wait until November to buy it, though, it's up on eBay now for well over three times the price at £316.56 plus £45.22 postage.
And this short multi-print folkloric ribbon dress isn't any better.
When it hits stores, shoppers (who are quick enough) will be able to snap it up for £149.99.
Those who don't want to risk missing out can get their hands on it now for £697.77 with postage - who needs a summer holiday next year, eh?
This isn't the first H&M designer collaboration. They've previously teamed up with Lanvin, Alexander Wang, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Versace and Isabel Marant with the aim of bringing affordable fashion to the high street.
Last year's collection with Balmain's Olivier Rousteing was their best-selling collection to date, but could this latest campaign beat it?
It looks like it's possible.
