Anne Robinson has Botox and an ENEMA at £20k beauty retreat in BBC show
The TV presenter reveals she attends the luxury spa twice a year for her 'MOT' in Anne Robinson's Britain
ANNE Robinson has Botox injections and an ENEMA on her new TV show – and reveals she spends £40,000 a year on an exclusive health retreat.
The brave presenter admits she spends £20k a throw to get her “biannual MOT” at a luxury spa in Bodensee, Germany.
In Anne Robinson’s Britain: Body Image, she admits: “Twice a year I treat myself to this no expense spared health farm. It’s all about no pain no gain.
“I get prodded and poked in every orifice imaginable and all I get to eat is vegetable juice.”
She is seen being injected in the skin around her mouth and joking “This is my treat for the day” as a doctor brings an enema kit into a room.
Then she is heard SCREAMING behind the closed door as the enema is inserted.
The 72-year-old admits having a facelift 12 years ago and spending hundreds on regular beauty treatments.
She says: “How I look matters to me. It always has. I have my hair cut and highlighted once a month. I have manicures, pedicures, facial peels. I have HRT implants. I had a facelift 12 years ago.
She adds: “I’m fanatical about the way I look and it’s hardly surprising.
“I grew up with a mother who went to a health farm three or four times a year and as a reward for finishing my O’levels she sent me to one.”
Of her twice-yearly treat she adds: “She says: “At £20k a visit it may seem excessive to some, but I’m not alone in my obsession with how I look.”
Previous shows have seen Anne explore our quirky attitudes to parenting and love of pets.
In this week’s episode, Anne delves into the nation’s body image foibles and asks: “What’s wrong with being ugly?”
She meets naturists Mike and Wendy, who live their lives naked, as well as Instagram fitness fanatics and plastic surgery addicts and discusses beauty and weight issues with straight-talking actress Miriam Margolyes.
Anne Robinson’s Britain is on BBC1 on Thursday at 8pm.
