Truth-seekers claim the Blood Moon Armageddon is coming – and that mysterious Planet X is coming to crash into Earth

The latest apocalypse prediction has been flagged on conspiracy blogs everywhere, and doomsday-obsessed theorists claim that it's all to do with last night's blood moon.

The natural blood moon phenomenon makes our moon seem reddish in colour, and far brighter than usual, as a result of it's position in the night sky.

Also known as a hunter's moon, because it used to give light for hunters as they tracked animals at night, last night's lunar event was particularly impressive, since it was also a so-called supermoon.

A supermoon looks bigger than usual, because the full moon comes at the same time as it's at the closest point to Earth during a lunar cycle.

But last night's super blood moon has sent apocalypse enthusiasts into a frenzy, thanks to a biblical warning that a blood-coloured moon spells the end for mankind.

The blood moon prophecy, a popular theory among doomsday theorists, states that this natural occurrence is a warning that Earth is about to be destroyed.

Apparently, the moon signifies that Planet X, also known as Planet 9 or the doomsday planet Nibiru, is on its way to end all life on Earth.

The planet is believed to pass by Earth every few thousand years, and believers in the blood moon prophecy claim that its gravitational pull will destroy our planet.

Apparently we can expect tidal waves and earthquakes of Biblical proportions when the mysterious planet passes by.

Last year saw a rare sequence of blood moons, sending conspiracy bloggers into overdrive.

The Biblical theory is believed to have originated from a quote from the Book of Joel, where it is written: "the sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes."
