Harry Potter fan theory suggests the young wizard is IMMORTAL thanks to Professor Dumbledore’s phoenix Fawkes
JK Rowling has shared her opinions on the bizarre conspiracy
HARRY Potter was dubbed The Boy Who Lived after surviving an attack by Lord Voldemort when he was a baby.
But the young wizard should actually be renamed The Boy Who Lived Forever if there’s any truth in this bizarre new fan theory.
A jaw-dropping conspiracy claims that Professor Dumbledore’s phoenix Fawkes was actually a secret horocrux who helped the spectacled teen become immortal.
A Tumblr user, known only by the pseudonym ‘marauders4evr’, says that when an injured Harry killed the Basilisk in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, a part of his soul escaped.
When Fawkes swooped in and shed a few tears on his bloody cut, the theory suggests that fragments of Harry’s soul attached itself to the bird thus making it a horcrux.
A horcrux is a powerful object in which a wizard can hide a piece of their soul. Creating one gives a magical person the ability to anchor their soul to earth if their body is destroyed.

Although horcruxes don’t make people immortal, when a phoenix dies it turns to ash and is then reborn from the ashes.
Essentially, they don’t really ever die.
If a bit of Harry’s soul is in Fawkes, it means that part of him will live forever.
This theory may also explain how Harry managed to come back from the dead after defeating Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
If Harry’s soul was still intact – aka in the phoenix – he could easily come back from the dead.
JK Rowling has previously responded to claims that Fawkes was a horcrux created by Professor Dumbledore when he accidentally killed his sister Ariana.
The author said she found “the idea that anybody believes this is strangely upsetting to me”.
