IT'S got to be up there among the most mortifying things that can happen to mums and dads.

A group online are sharing stories of being busted having sex by their kids... but luckily they're all managing to see the funny side.

Things kicked off when a user on the Mums Advice Facebook page posted a mortifying message asking for tips.

"Please no bashing as I already feel bad enough as it is!" the mum, who asked to stay anonymous, wrote.

"My daughter heard me and her dad ermmmm....getting to it last night... we thought she was asleep!! Until she shouted saying, Why is mummy saying oh??'

"We just told her I had belly ache and was going to sleep now. Oh the horror!

"She's 4 by the way, has this happened to anybody else? I'm mortified my poor girl!!!!"

Luckily for the red-faced mum, a host of others were on hand to share their bedroom mishaps.

The overwhelming response was that the lady shouldn't worry because it's happened to almost everyone.

As one mum laughed: "Got caught millions of times. Last month my 17-year-old son went out. So I thought great be as noisy as I want.

"He decided not to go out, he opened the door seen the rain and went to his room. I was caught rapid lol."

Many women were happy to share their stories, including having to fib about what was causing the noises

Another admitted: "My partner and I was being really quiet quite early on a Sunday morning.

"Then we heard footsteps so stopped and had a giggle to be honest.

"Then we heard my oldest say to my twins, 'Did mummy and daddy wake you up with their romance too?!'

"Nearly died of shame there and then!"

Other popular excuses included blaming noises on having tummy ache pains or the TV, saying they were planning Christmas so wanted no more questions, and blaming the sounds on a migraine.

Then there was this mortified mum, who revealed: "My daughter caught me and my partner a few months ago, she was six at the time, I just said we was playing hide and seek.

"She giggled about it for days after and even told my friend."

Of course, there were more than a few kids who shared their horror stories too.

Probably making the original poster feel better, most had no idea what was going on when they walked in on their parents as kids.

"I once thought I was being sneaky listening to me mam and dad wrap Xmas presents, I'd heard them say I was getting a jigsaw and I was buzzing.... Until my dad savagely mauled my mother... I still can't look at a jigsaw," one wrote.

Another added: "I walked in on my mum and dad when I was 4 and said what are you doing? Why is mummy crying? To be told they were playing horsey and mummy fell off the bed!

"I was like, 'Well stop it and go sleep!' And went back to bed!"

Another mum was mortified when her little girl walked in on her and her partner, only to tell the woman's ex-husband she "saw mine and my partner's boobies" the following day.
