Blue Peter badge winners to lose free entry to Merlin attractions next year, including Legoland and Chessington

The freebie perk will still continue in over 150 attractions around the UK, including London Zoo

Badge holders will no longer get free entry to Merlin attractions from January next year

BLUE peter badge winners will no longer get free entry to Legoland, Chessington, Thorpe Park, Alton Towers and dozens of other attractions run by Merlin Entertainments from the start of next year.

At present, badge holders can visit any of Merlin’s 21 UK attractions as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.

Winners have benefited from the perk for years from free entry to top venues across the UK.

However, Merlin has now decided to remove the benefit as part of a “regular review” of partnerships, the company said in a statement to .

A spokesperson added: "This is not a decision we've taken lightly as we have been involved in the scheme for many years, but we hope badge holders may take advantage of many other attractive Merlin offers in the future."

Over 150 UK attractions not run by Merlin currently offer free entry to badge-holders, including London Zoo.

Blue Peter badge holders still have around three months to use their free entry perk at Merlin attractions before it’s gone.

Although, some venues shut down for the winter on October 31, including Thorpe Park and Legoland Windsor.
