This year our Olympic and Paralympic teams have outdone themselves, racking up even more medal than in 2012 and coming second in the medal table overall.
In celebration of our sporting achievements athletes will be brandishing their medals at two spectacular parades hosted in London and Manchester.
For those in the north of England who wish to get involved in the festivities, here is all you need to know about the Manchester parade.
When is it?
The parade is set for 17th October.
It will start at 4.30pm so that as many school children as possible will be able to get involved with the festivities.
What’s the route?
It will start outside the Museum of Science and Industry, then move on to Deansgate.
It will then continue on through Huntsbank, Todd Street, Corporation Street, Exchange Square, Cross Street and the finishing up at Albert Square.
The whole parade can be watched on big screens which will be set up in Albert Square.
Who is expected to attend?
Aside from the hordes of people who will be flocking to celebrate the Olympic success, we are also expecting a number of the athletes to be in attendance.
Manchester’s recently wed couple Jason Kenny and Laura Trott are on the guests list as well as Mo Farah and swimmer Adam Peaty.
They will be cheered on alongside Paralympic stars Dame Sarah Storey, Kadeena Cox and Jonnie Peacock.
