Obese mum who drank five colas a day loses 15 STONE after being fat shamed by her own son
Crystal Blackwell was mortified when she heard the four-year-old's comment
AN obese mum was shocked into losing a whopping 15 STONE after her son fat shamed her.
Crystal Blackwell, 28, from Tennessee, America, tipped the scales at a massive 25 stone.
She realised it was time to take drastic action after hearing her four-year-old son Noah call her "that big woman".
"He was getting his haircut and he pointed at me and said 'see that big woman, that's my mum,'" she said
"I was so embarrassed, it was a big eye opener, kids always tell the 100% truth, they don't know how to lie and it was like being hit in the face, I realised that's how my son saw me.
"That really made me think and I knew I had to do something major."
Crystal's weight problem began when she was a kid and started drinking five sugary colas A DAY, as well as never having fruit and veg.
She also had sleep apnoea, which meant she'd gasp for breath while asleep, because of her size 30 bulk.
The mum decided to have gastric bypass surgery after seeing YouTube stars discussing it.
She ditched the fizzy drinks, started eating a balanced diet and has since lost a mammoth 15st 7lbs, bringing her down to a trim size 10.
"I had been heavy for a long time, me and my brother developed a really bad soda habit when we were young, cokes were my favourites, but I'd drink anything from Doctor Pepper to Mountain Dew," she explained.
"Cokes are loaded full of sugar, at my worst I'd be drinking four to five cans a day, it wasn't a normal day unless I had multiple cans of coke.
"I didn't have a good diet either everything from eating sugary cereal or a candy bar and coke, then for lunch I would McDonalds and ordered two of anything with a huge coke.
"My stomach was probably the size of a football, I never stopped eating even when I felt full – I've changed so much.
"Because of the gastric bypass I'm limited now, I can't eat grease or any sugar over 15g.
"It's good because it puts limits on me and stops me from making bad choices, as I know it will make me sick.
"I've been very determined and have gone from 21st 7lb to around 9st in one year, it was very fast even my doctors are amazed by my progress."
Crystal walks or jogs every day for an hour and also does sit ups and squats.
She's been completely determined to slim down, which she believes it why she's had such huge success.
"Everything is a lot better now, my relationships, my sex life and I'm a better mother because I can do what I need to do now," she said.
"I wake up every day and am thankful that my life has been spared, I was probably going to die because of my weight before, now I can look forward to the future because of my son.
"Now when I ask my son what am I, he tells me, 'Mummy, you're skinny,' and that's all I've wanted."
A healthy BMI is between 18 and 25, but at her biggest Crustal was a massive 62.

Lunch – McDonalds two of anything she ordered and a massive coke
Snack – three Coca-Colas and candy bars

One of the best moment for the mum was when she bumped into her cousin while clothes shopping.
They hadn't seen each other for a year, and Crystal's family member didn't recognise her.
"It's weird looking so different, I feel like crying with happiness," she added.
"It's mind blowing and I take so many selfies now because I proud of how I look."
She's finally at a healthy weight and has been told not to lose anymore.
Crystal may go under the knife again though, as she's like to have excess skin removal that could help her lose another couple of dress sizes.
