Brangelina’s By The Sea was panned… and here are 7 other celeb couples who split after starring in a movie turkey
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are far from the only couple to call it quits after appearing together on the big screen
THE prize for the biggest news of the week has to go to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who are getting divorced after two years of marriage.
Angelina sensationally filed the papers on Monday, with the breakup coming less than a year after the pair starred in movie By the Sea together. Angie directed it too, and joked at the time that friends had queried their decision to make a flick about a couple having relationship problems so soon after tying the knot (the shot it on their honeymoon).
The movie wasn't a roaring success with critics, which seems to be something of a theme when it comes to Hollywood breakups.
Here are seven other A-list pairs who've gone their separate ways after starring in a movie flop.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck - Gigli
The lovebirds starred alongside each other in this 2003 romantic comedy, which has been dubbed the worst movie of all time by some critics.
It got a tonne of Razzie nominations, getting the dubious honour of winning six.
Ben and Jen were engaged to be married, but couldn't make it work. They actually met on the set of the movie, then went on to appear in Jersey Girl together in 2004 - the same year their relationship ended.
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield - Amazing Spider-Man 2
This former couple met while shooting their first Spider-Man film in 2010, and they quickly became fan favourites.
They were pretty secretive about their relationship, then went their separate ways in 2015.
That wasn't long after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hit screens, which got mixed reviews. Andrew and Emma were both praised for their performances, but the plot apparently let things down,
Drew Barrymore and Justin Long in Going the Distance
This on/off couple decided to star in a rom com together - that's a lot of pressure to put on your relationship.
Both insisted their history made filming love scenes better because they were more believable, and claimed not being together didn't make it awkward.
It didn't cause their spark to be rekindled though, with the pair properly broken up by the time the had to do promotional duties for the flick in 2010.
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise in Eyes Wide Shut
The Stanley Kubrick movie came out in July 1999, with the raunchy scenes stars husband and wife Tom and Nicole shocking many.
There were more surprises in store in 2001 though, when Tom filed for divorce.

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in Divorce His, Divorce Hers
This was TV film where the pair played a couple whose 18-year marriage wasn't working (ahem, By the Sea parallels anyone?)
In a case of art imitating life, the couple got divorced in 1974 - a year after the film came out.
They actually remarried the following year, but again it didn't work and the union was all over by 1976.
Charlize Theron and Sean Penn in The Last Face
This movie premiered at Cannes earlier this year, with the audience jeering and booing it.
Charlize stars as an aid worker in Africa who falls in love with a doctor, and at the time she was dating director Sean.
Things didn't work out though, with the actress then having to deny claims she'd ghosted her ex.
Madonna and Guy Ritchie, Swept Away
Just like Charlize and Sean, Madge starred in Guy's 2002 movie Swept Away. It received one star from many critics, with the singer's acting getting a particular panning.
They've both put it behind them just as they have their marriage, which ended in 2008.
