These incredible transformation photos show drug addicts before and after quitting HEROIN
The candid snaps reveal just what drugs can do to the body
A MUM who battled against her heroin addiction for over two years shared an inspirational photo of what she looks like now... and the courageous woman isn't the first to upload her incredible transformation online.
The brave internet user, 24, shared a fresh-faced selfie 826 after giving up the Class A drug.
Earlier this week, the former addict shared the incredible before and after photos to Reddit with the caption: “Here is what 826 days sober looks like… Recovery is possible!”
Making the decision to get clean for the sake of her daughter, the woman went into a rehabilitation program where she was finally able to ditch the drug.
The determined mum has used her experience to advise other drug and alcohol addicts on how to kick the habit.
She said: “Take it one day at a time. It can get very frustrating.
“When you’re happy you’re gonna want to drink. When your sad you’re gonna want to drink. When you can’t sleep you’re gonna want to drink.
“Actively check yourself in those situations and just make your goal when you get out of bed in the morning to go to bed sober.”
It’s not the first time that recovering addicts have shocked social media by sharing their impressive transformation photos.
Last year, a former heroin addict encouraged drug users to kick the habit after sharing some candid photos.
Even though she became addicted as a teenager, a rehabilitation regime allowed her to become clean for three years.
After uploading her amazing transformation snaps to an Imgur post that was viewed over 450,000 times, she said: “Just overflowing with love and gratitude for the life I live today.
“If you're struggling with addiction, it does not matter how far down you've gone. I promise there IS a way out.”
For some recovering addicts, ditching the drug showed almost immediate effects.
Imgur user jermwithhaj revealed: “Drugs are real. Before and after six months of sobriety.
“Today, my life is different. And that's all I could really hope for towards the end.
“Not a better life, because I didn't feel like anything was ever going to get better... but just something different.
“This is what 6 months of hard work and commitment looks like for me. I can finally know what happiness and serenity feel like. It’s worth it, I promise you.”

Uploading a picture of the transformation, which went on to be viewed over 2.2 million times, the Redditor said: “Inspired by another Redditor, I present to you my sister. 90 Days Meth Free.”
After the pictures went viral, the recovering addict said: “I’m not proud of the fact I used to do meth. But from the positive comments we’ve seen, it seems like we got the message across.
“I truly wish the best for anyone trying to beat this nasty addiction…and just know there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.”
