Where did Sam Thompson, Kim Jong-un and Kate Middleton go to school? Here’s where these famous faces were educated
BEFORE they walked red carpets, recorded chart-topping hits or even married Prince William, many celebrities lived fairly normal lives as kids.
Here are all the schools that your favourite stars went to, before finding fame...
Sam Thompson
Unsurprisingly, Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson was privately educated at the £29,000-a-year Bradfield College - where parents of boarders pay £36,000.
The Berkshire school is a member of The Rugby Group – alongside fancy Harrow, Wellington College and Charterhouse.
When entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, Sam notably told Emma Willis: “I’m super nervous… it’s like going back to boarding school, isn’t it?”
Kim Jong-un
As the heir to North Korea’s leadership, Kim Jong-un was sent off to be educated at boarding school in Switzerland.
Kim Jong-il lavished thousands of pounds on his son’s education – but the future leader left the International School of Berne without a single GCSE equivalent qualification.
His fellow pupils were given a false name, and thought Kim was the son of a diplomat.
Apparently he wasn’t very good at speaking either English or German.
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran was educated at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk.
Previously an independent grammar school for girls, Thomas Mills later became a state secondary school – and now has academy status.
Ed’s girlfriend Cherry Seaborn also attended Thomas Mills – and it is thought the singer had a high school crush on his hockey-loving beau.
Millie Mackintosh
Chelsea socialite Millie was privately educated at Hanford Boarding School in Dorset.
She didn't enjoy the all girls school, speaking in an interview she described being bullied by some of her fellow students.
She said: "It was something I learned to deal with. I just found it quite difficult.
"I had acne, I had braces. I was shy and didn’t feel comfortable in myself and it took a while to kind of figure myself out."
Johanna Konta
Talented tennis player Johanna is well-known for dominating the courts.
Before she was swinging rackets for a living, she attended Steiner school in Sydney.
She left the school when she was 11, and was home-schooled from then on.
Camilla Thurlow
Camilla caused quite an impression on Love Island due to her love of books and championing female equality.
And with her posh accent and rumours of a Prince Harry hook up, it is unsurprising that she attended a good school.
The Islander went to Fettes College in Edinburgh, the same place that Tony Blair went to.
Kate Middleton
When she was four, the future Duchess of Cambridge was enrolled at St Andrew's School, a private school in Berkshire and boarded part-weekly in later years.
She has also studied at Downe House and was a boarder at co-educational independent boarding school Marlborough College in Wiltshire.
From here, the star went to the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland to study history of art.
Vicky Pattison
Vicky took her GCSEs and A levels at Burnside Business and Enterprise College.
The community school was mixed gender and near her home in North-Tyneside.
She then went on top study drama at Liverpool John Moores University.
Spencer Matthews
The third Sloaney-pony to feature on our list, Spencer was educated at world famous Eton.
The eye-wateringly expensive private boarding-school counts both Prince William and Harry and ex-Prime minister David Cameron among its alumni.
Kelly Brook
Kelly attended The Thomas Aveling School in Rochester.
She left the school, which has academy status, in favour of famous performing arts school Italia Conti.
Rita Ora
Like many of her celebrity comrades, Rita Ora attended a specialist performing arts school.
She studied at London based independent school Sylvia Young Theatre School.
She was in good company as the school also played host to the likes of Amy Winehouse and Billie Piper.
Zayn Malik
Zayn Malik studied at Tong High School in Bradford.
During his time at the school, which converted to an academy in 2015, he took to performing arts, often appearing in plays and school shows.
Simon Cowell
Simon attended mix gender private school Dover College.
The school takes both day pupils and boarders and has the strict Latin motto "Non recuso laborem" which translates to I cannot refuse the task.
Cheryl
Chezza attended Walker Comprehensive School in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Unfortunately Cheryl and school didn't always agree and was reportedly suspended twice, once for fighting with another pupil and a second time for swearing on a bus.
Holly Willoughby
Daytime TV queen Holly Willoughby attended Burgess Hill school for girls, an independent girls school in West Sussex.
The private school's motto is "Sum, Possum, Debeo, Efficiam" translated from Latin this means "I am, I can, I ought, I will".
Parents pay up to £17,790-a-year for day pupils or £30,540 for boarders, depending on their child's age.
