Plastic surgeon from hell sneered in woman’s face after he had butchered her boobs in botched operation

The effects of the operations have been devastating

FOLLOWING an impressive ten stone weight loss, a woman met with a plastic surgeon to fix her sagging boobs.

Feeling sexier than ever at a svelte size 12, Alex Cater believed she’d soon have the body of her dreams, but she could never have anticipated the nightmare she’d soon face.

Mum-of-one Alex, 33, had struggled to keep her weight down after having her two kids Kayleigh, 13, and Cameron, 10.

It wasn’t until she ballooned to a size 26 that Alex decided she needed to change her life.

Remarkably, the determined mum, from Wollaston, Northamptonshire, managed to shift the baby weight by eating healthily and going to the gym weekly for five long years.

Even though Alex dropped a staggering seven dress sizes and had the support of her loving husband Mark, she felt she looked “horrible” because of how her boobs had sagged following the weight loss.

Alex remembered: “I should have been in awe of my slinky size 12 frame. But I wasn’t...

“I’d worked so hard for my dream body and yet, it still seemed nothing more than a distant fantasy.”

It wasn’t until Alex was commuting home from her job as a nursery nurse that she heard a radio ad promoting a competition to win a complimentary boob job at the Alexandra Hospital in Chesterfield.

Feeling like the advert must have been fate, Alex crossed her fingers as she entered the contest.

Two weeks later, the doting mum discovered that even though she hadn’t won the competition, the hospital had offered her a prize of £500 towards surgery at their clinic.

The following day, Alex arranged a consultation with Dr. Amedeo Usai, a fully-qualified plastic surgeon with many years’ experience in breast augmentation surgery.

Alex claims that she was assured the operation was a “straightforward process”, but her operation in May 2010 definitely ended up being anything but.

After coming around from the surgery anaesthetic, Alex felt terrible pain and noticed that her boobs were leaking out pus.

Three days later, she met with Dr Usai to get a basic scar revision to help the healing process on its way.

Traumatically, waking up from the second surgery would prove more painful than the first and have even worse effects on her body.

She remembered: “As I touched the top of my breasts, I knew something was wrong.”

Instead of the pert boobs she was dreaming of, Alex claims that her chest was left completely flat and “butchered”.

She said: “Heartbroken and furious, I consulted Dr. Usai.

“‘He’s understanding, he’ll put this right’ I thought.

“But instead, he quickly became aggressive, sneering ‘You can’t pay for a Mini and get a Ferrari! What did you expect from £3,500 surgery?’”

Devastatingly, the damage done by the first operation was so severe that it couldn’t be fully fixed by more surgery.

Alex explained: “For five months, I was forced to use the chord of my dressing gown as a brace to support my breasts.

“Then, I visited yet another surgeon, who performed a simple procedure to anchor the tissue at the base of my breasts, in the hopes they could support themselves.”

One year on, Alex was still suffering with pains in her chest, so she went back to the Alexandra Hospital to have the implants removed all together.

Dr. Amedeo Usai, who had been based in Preston, Lancashire, was struck off the medical register, and found guilty of misconduct at a disciplinary hearing of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.

The legal victory is a small reassurance to mum Alex, who has been left devastated by the ordeal.

She said: “I still have so much scarring, both mentally and physically, and I doubt I’ll ever get over it.

“I am still in constant agony as a result of the nerve damage in my left breast, and I am still so heartbroken by the ordeal this dodgy doc put me through.

“I hope no other woman has to experience the hellish nightmare that I have. I am so pleased that he’s been struck off, but I wish it happened before he had the chance to butcher me.”
