When you’ve finished each meal taking the time to brush your teeth will keep you fresh throughout the day.

If you don’t floss and brush the food will stay between your teeth and on your tongue.

As the day goes on the food will be broken down by bacteria which will cause a nasty odour.

All the bits you’ve accumulated through the day will linger in your mouth during the night.

Banish the nasties and go to bed minty fresh to avoid the dreaded morning breath.

It’s not just your teeth that are harbouring the bad smell-inducing food remnants- your tongue is also covered in bacteria.

Focus on brushing the back surface for a really deep clean.

Stay hydrated

A dry mouth and tongue can cause a real smell.

Keep yourself hydrated during the day, preferably with water as alcohol and coffee can cause whiffs of their own.

If you’ve stuck to all the instructions above but still can’t shake the stench you may have an underlying health issue that needs addressing- it’s best to consult your GP under these circumstances.
