Remember singer Daniel Bedingfield? This is what he looks like – and is up to – now
Some fans claim that the performer is completely 'unrecognisable'
NOUGHTIES pop star Daniel Bedingfield hit the big time 15 years ago, when he released his debut album Gotta Get Thru This.
The BRIT Award-winning singer, who was born in New Zealand, looks a lot less fresh-faced nowadays.
Even though Daniel’s first album sold over four million copies worldwide, he was not able to match the same success with Second First Impression in 2004.
Although two of the singles did make it into the UK Top 20, the collection received a lukewarm reception, reaching just number 8 in the album charts.
Deciding to put his singing career on hold, Daniel began writing songs for other recording artists.
In 2004, he co-wrote the track Works for Me for American Idol finalist David Archuleta, as well as working alongside Pixie Lott and the Roots.
After almost a decade of living life under the radar, Daniel accepted a job on the judging panel of The X Factor New Zealand.
During the brief stint on the singing competition show, Daniel mentored the winning act Jackie Thomas.
Since his time on The X Factor, Daniel’s song-writing career has taken off.
In 2014, he co-wrote I Wanna Feel, which was released by SecondCity.
The catchy tune hit number 1 on the UK Singles Chart and managed to remain in the top 20 charts for six weeks.
This year, Daniel briefly starred in Jeff Wayne’s musical The War of the Worlds.
Sadly his stint in the West End production, which was held at the Dominion Theatre, was short-lived.
A report in suggested that the singer wasn’t able to get to grips with the role due to tension and “difficulties behind the scenes”.
