THINK that request you wear only one colour to a wedding was really out there? Time to think again.
It seems bridezillas are an ever-growing breed, and their requests are becoming more and more outlandish.
That’s the findings of a survey by anyway, which asked people to open up about the weirdest wedding requests they’ve ever heard.
Weighty request
One woman was stunned when she was asked to pack on the pounds by a bride.
The reason? She was a bridesmaid and the bride wanted to be the trimmest in the wedding party.
Even worse? The bride threatened to kick them out of the wedding if they didn’t oblige.
“My sister-in-law asked her bridesmaids (me included) to gain 11 – 22lbs to make her look better in comparison,” the amazed woman said.
“None of us did it – especially since she outweighed the heaviest of us by about 3st anyway.”
Stripping down
One poor person was asked to a NUDIST wedding.
They were told there was no pressure to strip off, but that didn’t make things less awkward.
“There was a mix of people and it was pretty odd being stood in a suit next to someone who was completely naked,” they said.
So controlling
One person worked at a venue used for weddings which was also near an airport.
Double win you might think, as guests could get there quickly… sadly that wasn’t one bride’s thoughts.
“She told the coordinator to make sure that no flights would be passing overhead during her ceremony,” the person said.
“OK, so, we’ll just call every airline and have them delay all flights for you?!’ Crazy.”
Penny pinching?
One person was involved in a pretty splashy wedding, there were 10 bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Unfortunately for them all, that meant they had to double up on duties.
The group ended up decorating the venue because there was something much more important to spend money on…
“Six wedding dresses. Yes, throughout the course of the very long wedding ceremony/reception, the bride changed into all six,” they explained.
Well heeled
This is one of the more extreme ones… one bride made her bridesmaids co-ordinate their heels so they were all the same height.
“My friend was 5’2″ and the tallest bridesmaid was 5’9. She wanted my friend to wear 7-inch stilettos – for an outdoor wedding,” the person laughed.
Takes the…cake
And finally, one poor organiser couldn’t believe it when a groom spoke up with just this one request: “The only thing that the groom insisted upon at the wedding was that he cut the cake with a sword.”
