Inside the creepy walls of an abandoned asylum that’s been left to crumble

Heckingford Manor was once home to hundreds of desperate drug addicts and alcoholics - back when the imposing property served as a highly-successful treatment facility

THIS abandoned asylum hasn't been touched for over a decade, and it's every bit as eerie as you'd expect.

But today the rotting building has been left to crumble and decay, tucked away behind ancient trees and a web of ivy on an old two-acre estate.

The two-storey structure began life in the 18th Century as a Georgian manor house, on a site which was once home to a Tudor mansion.

Before it was converted to a treatment centre, the building served as a children's home and an old people's home, although the facility closed for good in 2003 due to funding cuts.

Immediately, the crumbling building became an eerie time warp, with needles strewn on the floor as if the inhabitants suddenly vanished 13 years ago.

Meanwhile, the stained-glass windows have been left covered in filth, as the walls begin to rot and collapse.

These chilling photos may be the last time the manor is ever seen, after it was left untouched for over 10 years

These spooky shots were taken by 35-year-old photographer Simon Robson, who may have captured photos of the manor for the last time ever.

In May 2016, an application was submitted to the North Kesteven District Council to demolish the building, but the ancient manor was granted a stay of execution and is still standing today.
