British woman defends hunting wild animals after slaying her first victim aged 10
The Instagram poser insists that the pastime is humane and good for the environment
A FEMALE hunter has defended her pastime after being trolled online and even receiving death threats.
Rachel Carrie, who is now 31, went on her first hunt at the age of ten and vows that she will never stop despite controversy.
Born in Yorkshire, the woman has developed her shooting skills to such a high level that she has even represented England at shooting in the Commonwealth Games.
After growing up partaking in the gory pastime, Rachel fiercely defends her method of stocking up the fridge and even claims that she loves animals more than most people.
"I am a massive animal lover. I am not hurting them. I am a meat eater and I have to get my meat from somewhere," she told the
However, many people aren't convinced, after Rachel posted images online posing next to the animals she has killed.
The curvaceous blonde has been accused of glamorising hunting, but she insists that she isn't intentionally drawing attention to her figure.
Rachel said: "I don't think there is any sexy about those photos where I am wearing shorts.
"That's just me in my clothes - a camouflage top and shorts. That's my body If I wanted to have picture for attention I would go and have my picture taken with my tits out."
Rachel doesn't just hunt for her family's Sunday roast.
In previous years she has travelled as far as Spain and New Zealand to take part in culls with the aim of conservation.
This has included culling non-native sheep and deer where the herds have grown too large and are damaging the surrounding environment.
She said: "I advocate it as I realise the huge benefits to conservation and wildlife."
Her support of hunting doesn't stop there.
Rachel has even spoken out in support of Walter Palmer, the dentist who killed Cecil the lion.
"I want my ten-year-old son to be able to see rhinos, elephants and buffalo in the wild. If that means an American can pay to go and hunt and that enables populations to thrive, then kudos to hunters."
She insists that hunting is the best way to kill animals as it is not only more humane, but none of the meat is wasted.
On the TLC documentary, Jodie Marsh joins Rachel on a deer hunt.
Although the presenter found the activity upsetting and distressing at first, she has since admitted that "it is a much better way of harvesting meat than any other way I have seen."
Rachel has even praised the way that Jodie dealt with the experience first hand.
She tweeted: "Huge respect to @jodiemarshtv for bravely covering a topic which she is so sensitive to!
"It's easy for the likes of Piers Morgan & Ricky Gervais to sit on their a**** and judge from their comfy sofas... But to actually get out there and live it is true journalism.
"It was certainly a 'bumpy' ride going head to head with someone with such strong opposing views to mine."
Jodie Marsh Goes Hunting first airs on Tuesday 13 September at 10pm on TLC.
