Mum’s ultrasound scan photo looks like she’s about to give birth to Transformer robot Optimus Prime
A MUM has told how her ultrasound scan photo prompted tears of "joy and relief" - despite the fact it looked like there was a Transformer robot in her womb.
Sharissa Grant, from Victoria, Australia, had previously lost a child to a neural defect in 2007.
But her recent scan snap showed baby Royce was developing normally - even though it bore an uncanny resemblance to Transformers character Optimus Prime.
Sharissa was 13 weeks gone when she had the ultrasound and admitted she was terrified about it after the death of her daughter, Poppy.
She told : '"She had a neural tube defect - anencephaly - so her skull hadn't formed and she was stillborn.
"The tech doing Royce's 13-week scan took the photo to show me that his skull and brain had formed perfectly because she knew it was important to me to see that he was developing properly.
"I was really nervous having the scan.
"I had gone in to book it for the following week and they had a cancelled booking and were able to fit me in right away, so I didn't have anybody there with me."

Sharissa said she didn't know whether to "laugh or cry" after seeing the robot-shape on the monitor.
She admitted: "I remember seeing the Transformer face on the screen and giggling, but when she pointed out his skull and brain I had a few tears of relief."
Royce's brother and sister however were convinced their baby brother was alien.
Mum Sharissa recalled: "I didn't realise I actually had a copy of the photo until I showed my other kids in the car at school pick up.
"They were creeped out thinking the baby was an alien!
"It was definitely funny."
Royce is now 12-weeks old and doing really well, with the ultrasound photo having been safely tucked away to be brought out for his 21st birthday.
