Meet the mum who ‘cherry-picks the parts of parenting’ she wants to do and even hires a LEGO THERAPIST for her kids
IF you had all the money in the world, how would you spend it? Fancy holidays, designer clothes and posh food maybe - but it's pretty doubtful a LEGO THERAPIST for your kids would be top of the list.
Unless you're Nina Naustdal, one of the stars of new Channel 4 TV show Too Posh To Parent of course.
Nina lives in upmarket Chelsea, London, and is mum to daughters Leah, nine, and six-year-old Alexa, her son Noah, five.
She shares her home with her husband Joseph, when he's not at work in Monaco, and a ton of staff - she estimates their wages set her back £200,000 a year.
Among them is the Lego therapist. "Oh the school actually recommended him," she told .
"There has been research to say that playing with Lego is helpful in improving a child’s concentration. We’re finding it very useful. I think we will continue."
When your hubby is a hedge fund manager you don't really need to worry about money, which is why Nina does things like fork out for bespoke shoes for her kids.
She's a fashion designer and has help from a PA, nannies, cook, cleaner, housekeeper and a chauffeur.
Her life is so pampered Nina doesn't even pick up her seven dogs' poo - that's one of the nannies' jobs.
"I’ve always been honest about the fact I have a busy lifestyle and need help to do everything," sh explained.
"It’s no big deal. And in the part of London where I live, pretty much everyone is the same.
"Not everyone does talk about it, but I don’t see why there should be a shame about it.
"Yes, I do cherry-pick the parts of parenting I want to do, but what is wrong with that? I think most parents would, too — if they could afford it."
Nina shares her PA with her kids, as she needs help with coordinating their play dates.
She's also completely dependent on her chef, revealing if she was ever called on to cook she'd need to take a course because she's never learnt how to rustle things up.
The kids have a tutor too, and each season they get to pick the clothes they want from the new season's offerings.
Nina insist her little ones do understand they're privileged - she's taken them to Africa to show them not all kids are so fortunate.
"I know I probably give them more than most — my daughters already have diamond jewellery, for instance — but I make sure they are grateful," she explained.
Also featured on the show is Amanda Jenner, a woman who's tapped into the rich and wealth set with her business idea.
She's set herself up as a POTTY TRAINER and charged £2,000 for the service (maybe she could give this mum, who was wondering when to stop wiping her child's bottom, some tips). It's going well too, Amanda has a two-year waiting list.
As mum Lauren, also on the programme, explains: "[Potty training] is one of those skills you carry with you for a lifetime, so whatever the price is, I’ll pay for it.”
She's happy to be described as "too posh to parent", explaining she's a better wife for her husband when she's freed up to go to cocktail parties.
Then there are parents Igor and Natasha are keen for their daughter Katya, 13, to be a top-notch violin player.
Their solution? Hire violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky to teach her on an instrument that is worth a staggering £7 million.
Katya also has a nanny called Emma who she's extremely close to.
So much so, in fact, that when Emma thought about leaving Igor bought her a house to convince her to stay.
