A nine-tier cake, 400 guests and a £5,700 dress… inside one of the most lavish weddings ever
Khadijeh 'Kat' Mehajer, a socialite from Sydney, went all out for her nuptials
FOR most of us weddings are fraught with worries about the table decorations and how to trim the guest list.
But when you have room for 400 hundred of your nearest and dearest, things are a bit different.
Australian socialite Khadijeh ‘Kat’ Mehajer famously threw one of the most lavish hen dos ever in June, complete with four outfit changes, 180 macaroons and belly dancers.
So it stands to reason the party after the wedding was going to be a pretty extravagant affair.
In fact, Kat and her new husband Ibraham Sakalaki have celebrated with several bashes across Sydney following their nuptials.
It’s claimed the total cost was (£57,600).
The evening do was held at Sydney’s Doltone House, and it included sports cars, singers, lavish gowns and drummers.
Guests arrived in Ferraris, Lamborghinis and BMWs, with a special white carpet put down for them to walk on.
Kat wore a dress costing $10,000 (£5,700), with the 400 evening guests - including Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo - treated to alcohol-free cocktails and pizza from the couple’s favourite restaurant to kick things off.

Later the booze flowed, with red white, Chivas Regal whisky and Grey Goose vodka on each table.
In the centre of the room stood a nine-tier wedding cake flecked with cream and pink petals.
Guests dined on gnocchi with crab, salmon braised with baby fennel or a fillet of beef.
Madagascan vanilla bean crème brulee and a ‘lemon cream and lychee cloud’ were served for dessert.
There were drums for when family members walked in, with the bride and groom welcomed with fireworks and dry ice.
Their respective fathers were lifted high above the crowd and so were the happy couple.
Shortly afterwards eight white doves were released onto the dancefloor as the enormous cake was cut with a ceremonial sword encrusted with diamonds.
Afterwards, the bride and groom had their first dance as sparklers lit the room, before the doves were organised into position for the photos.
Well, you have to admit it beats your other half going for a Roman Empire-themed wedding complete with a full-on battle scene doesn’t it?
