POTTERMORE has released a selection of early sketches drawn of Harry and the gang back in the 90s.
And while JK Rowling may be most well-known for her writing, it seems her illustrating skills are pretty top notch too.
The sketches, which JK etched in the 1990’s before the Harry Potter novels were released, give an early insight into how the books’ famous characters began.
One of the most interesting illustrations is perhaps that of the whole Hogwarts gang, complete with a mystery character called ‘Gary’ - who would eventually become Dean Thomas in the final cut.
Another etching depicts and intense game of Quidditch, complete with a bludger bashing into someone as they seek the snitch.
One snap shows everyone’s favourite Potions Master, Severus Snape, who looks as stern as ever – an uncannily similar to Alan Rickman who was cast in the movie role.
Even cheeky Hogwarts ghost Peeves makes an appearance in one sketch and seems to be wearing clown-like attire.
Other sketches will pull at Potter-lovers heartstrings – including one of Harry’s historical first meeting with Hagrid, Dumbledore and McGonagall after his parents were murdered by Voldemort.
Another heartbreaking drawing depicts the tragic moment that Harry sees his parents staring back at him via the Mirror Of Erised.
