If that horror story wasn’t enough to ruin your enthusiasm to get jiggy, a recent study showed that girl on top was the most likely position to cause a man’s member to break.

The position, also known as cowgirl, is believed to make up over HALF of penile fractures.

It’s believed that the penis is more vulnerable to breakages when the woman is in control, as it’s more likely to penetrate at an awkward angle.

The study, published in the advances In Urology journal earlier this year, explained that romping in doggy style caused 29 per cent of the intimate ailments.

Researchers concluded: "Our study supports the fact that sexual intercourse with 'woman on top' is the potentially riskiest sexual position related to penile fracture."

They continued: "Our hypothesis is that when woman is on top she usually controls the movement with her entire body weight landing on the erect penis, not being able to interrupt it when the penis suffers a wrong way penetration, because the harm is usually minor in woman with no pain but major in the penis.

"On the contrary, when the man is controlling the movement, he has better chances of stopping the penetration energy in response to the pain related to the penis harm, minimizing it."

Luckily, there’s no need to ditch the bedroom antics, as the study reassured that penile fractures are “relatively uncommon”.
