Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen weds model Minttu Virtanen in stunning Tuscan ceremony

FORMER Formula 1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen has married his supermodel girlfriend Minttu Virtanen.

The 36-year-old Ferrari ace wed the lingerie beauty, 29, at the Abbey of San Galgano – a Cistercian monastery between the Tuscan towns of Chiusdino and Monticiano – at the weekend.

Minttu, who has been dating the racer since 2013, dazzled in an ivory gown that featured a daringly low-cut back that was framed by elegant lace embroidery.

The svelte brunette’s glamorous floor-skimming dress also featured a multi-layered skirt and chic frill detailing.

Minttu, who was accompanied by her suited dad, pinned her glossy locks into a sophisticated chignon, secured by a jewel-encrusted hairpin.

The sun-kissed beauty accessorised the show-stopping look with a pair of diamond droplet earrings and nude patent heels.

Meanwhile, Kimi looked handsome in a smart navy suit, a crisp white shirt and black brogues.

The sports star was seen carrying the couple’s 19-month old son Robin into the lavish venue.

Also in attendance was principal of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team Maurizio Arrivabene and his wife Stefania Bocchi.

Ahead of their nuptials, Minttu spoke to Finnish lifestyle magazine Kauneus and Terveys about their relationship.

She said: “It took some time before he trusted me.

“Kimi is very wary of people. He always wonders if people are sincere or not.

“But eventually we established trust between us and in May last year he asked me to stop work to move in with him in Switzerland to take care of me.”

She hinted that the pair are planning to have more children soon, adding: “If it was up to him he would be a dad again right away.

“I too would like to have a second child if pregnancy did not have so many negatives.

“But one point on which we do agree is that we do not want there to be too much of an age gap between our children.”
