Man has enormous four-stone tumour removed from his stomach… after originally mistaking the huge bulge for a beer belly
Josef Martinec had no idea his weight gain was actually so serious
A MAN who presumed he'd just packed on the pounds was stunned when doctors removed a FOUR STONE tumour from his belly.
Josef Martinec eventually went to hospital when his back became incredibly painful.
He was examined by doctors at Tomas Bata Hospital in Zlin, in the southeastern Czech Republic, and was amazed to be hold that his growing belly wasn't just because of weight gain.
It turned out he had a massive malignant tumour in his abdomen which weighed an enormous four stone two pounds.
The mass was so big surgeons had no choice but to operate on it - a risky move as Josef wasn't in the best of health.
"The tumour was pushing at my kidneys, liver, and lungs and I had big problems with breathing some weeks before the operation," he said.
"I felt the end and it was my own decision to undergo the surgery although the doctors told me about the risk.
"I told myself that I had nothing to lose."
The operation lasted for a massive six hours.
During it Josef lost a lot of blood, but luckily there were no other complications.
