Aldi named Supermarket of the Year for Parents… as their nappies beat off stiff competition from Pampers

ALDI has been named the Best Supermarket of the Year for the fourth year running at the Loved By Parents Awards 2016.

The discount supermarket bagged a total of 16 gongs for nappies, baby-friendly laundry products, organic baby food and baby wipes.

The quality and unbeatable value beat stiff competition from rival brands such as Pampers, Asda and Ocado.

The products are part of Aldi's growing baby and toddler brand Mamia, which is priced from 35p for a packet of cotton buds and up to £3.39 for a 26 packet of age six plus diapers.

"At Aldi, we always strive to meet the needs of our consumers, enabling regular shoppers to get more of what they want for less."

The German-based retailer is looking to expand the range from 6 September 2016 to include newborn wipes, nappy sacks and organic creamy porridge.

Earlier this week Aldi excited shoppers after announcing they were re-stocking their highly sought-after Wagyu beef burgers.

The posh barbecue nosh – considered to be the best meat in the world – sent shoppers into a frenzy last year when it hit supermarket shelves for the first time.

Customers are advised to snap up the luxury patties, which will be sold in twin packs for £2.99 from today, before they sell out.

Over the past year, the grocer has sold 1.5 million Wagyu beef burgers.
