How the stars of The Office racked up multi-million pound fortunes… but who made the most?
Ricky Gervais, Martin Freeman and Mackenzie Crook are now Hollywood starlets
IT has been 15 years since The Office first aired on British television.
The laugh-out-loud mockumentary, written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, followed the mundane lives of staff at Wernham Hogg, a paper merchant in Slough.
Much to the delight of fans, Ricky Gervais is now bringing back David Brent, the company's cringe-inducing manager, in new film Life On The Road.
The movie follows David, now a travelling toiletry salesman, as he tries to launch a music career as the frontman of band Foregone Conclusion.
Although things didn't end too well for David and his team - he was made redundant and Wernham Hogg was forced to downsize – the series helped launch a number of lucrative careers.
Ahead of the movie release on 19 August, we see what the much-loved characters are up to now – and how much they’ve earned.
RICKY GERVAIS
£60m fortune
Ricky Gervais, who played Wernham Hogg's twit of a manager David Brent, followed up The Office with the critically-acclaimed BBC Two series, Extras.
The 55-year-old Reading-born actor went on to pen comedies, An Idiot Abroad, Life’s Too Short and Derek before moving into film.
BAFTA-winning Ricky, who was named one of Time magazine’s most influential people in 2010, has directed and starred in a number of movies, including Ghost Town, The Muppets and Special Correspondents.
The stand-up star's global appeal has helped him amass a tidy fortune of £60m.
Ricky, who has been dating producer Jane Fallon since the late Eighties, was the first Brit to write an episode of The Simpsons.
And, he has also hosted the Golden Globes a record four times.
MACKENZIE CROOK
£3m fortune
Kent-born actor Mackenzie Crook played the ambitious – if slightly misguided – Gareth Keenan.
After The Office wrapped, 44-year-old Mackenzie headed to Hollywood and landed the role of Ragetti in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
He’s continued to enjoy high-profile roles, starring in screen hits such as The Adventures of Tintin and Finding Neverland.
Mackenzie, who has a whopping £3m in the bank, also played Orell in HBO’s Game Of Thrones and co-wrote BBC Four comedy Detectorists.
The BAFTA-winner, who has two children with wife Lindsay, has dazzled theatre critics with his performances in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, The Seagull and Jerusalem.
He’s even found time to write and illustrate a children’s book, The Windvale Sprites.
MARTIN FREEMAN
£11.5m fortune
Things have rocketed for Martin Freeman since The Office wrapped.
The 44-year-old Aldershot-born actor, who played the despairing Tim Canterbury, has landed major film and television roles on both side of the Atlantic.
Martin starred in Love Actually, The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy and Nativity before bagging the part of Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy.
The Emmy-award winner has also won critical acclaim for his portrayal of Dr Watson, who he plays opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes.
Martin has two kids with his actress wife Amanda Abbington.
His A-list roles have seen him net a £11.5m fortune.
LUCY DAVIS
£756,813 fortune
Jasper Carrott’s daughter Lucy Davis played receptionist Dawn Tinsley.
The Birmingham-born actress, 43, went on to star as Dianne in horror-comedy movie Shaun of the Dead and voice Hayley in The Archers.
The blonde starlet, who is a passionate PETA campaigner, later headed across the pond and starred in Ugly Betty, The Mentalist and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Lucy, who has £756,813 in the bank, battled eating disorders for a number of years, which prevented her from working.
She turned down a role as the ugly, older sister in Cameron Diaz movie, In Her Shoes.
Lucy, who was married to actor Owain Yeoman for five years, is set to play Etta Candy in the 2017 superhero film Wonder Woman.
What happened to the other stars?
RALPH INESON
The 46-year-old played nasty sales rep Chris ‘Finchy’ Finch.
Leeds-born Ralph hit the big time playing Dagmer Cleftjaw in Games of Thrones and Amycus Carrow in the Harry Potter films.
Thanks to his distinctive Yorkshire accent, Ralph, who is married and has two children, does a variety of voice over work.
JULIE FERNANDEZ
Julie Fernandez is best known for playing Brenda in The Office.
The 42-year-old from London was born with osteogenesis imperfecta and uses a wheelchair.
Julie is a passionate disability rights activist and works as a consultant on disabled issues.
The actress has launched her own television production company called The Wheelie Good Company and runs an arts and craft business in Cambridgeshire.
EWEN MACINTOSH
Welsh actor Ewen MacIntosh played Keith Brown, lovingly known as Big Keith to his Wernham Hogg colleagues.
The 42-year-old has since appeared in Miranda, Little Britain and the theatre show, Geek! A New Musical.
Ewen is also the voice of Drench drinks adverts and competed on Celebrity Mastermind in 2012.
PATRICK BALADI
Patrick Baladi played the tall, dark and handsome Neil Godwin - the manager of Wernham Hogg's Swindon branch.
The 44-year-old from Birmingham went on to play a flight attendant in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and had a minor role in the BBC's Waterloo Road.
Patrick recently starred in ITV series Marcella, alongside Anna Friel.
When he's not on TV, he runs an antiques and furniture shop in Gloucestershire.
