Woman left outraged after groom organises her DRIVING TEST on the morning of her wedding
Maria was left in tears after fiance Ryan took charge of their big day on Don't Tell The Bride
MOST brides-to-be ditch their L plates after their raucous hen do - but not one poor woman who had to complete her driving test on her wedding day.
Maria, a 23-year-old nurse from Kent, had to do the exam in her white gown, after fiance Ryan, 24, decided it would be a cheap way for her to get to the church.
The pretty blonde looked less than impressed on the new Sky1 series of Don't Tell The Bride - which gives couples £14,000 towards their nuptials if the groom plans the wedding alone - as she steered her way to the service under the watchful eye of the invigilator.
Meanwhile, Maria's shocked dad was relegated to the back seat.
But this isn't the only blunder penny-pinching Ryan, who plays football for Southern Counties East Football League team Ashford United, made.
He decided to shun Maria's dream church wedding for a 'back to school' themed soiree.
After the civil ceremony - held in North Kent College's sports hall - guests were served a kids' dinner of chicken nuggets in the canteen while the bridesmaids were given £15 school uniforms to wear.
Ryan, who got a C in GCSE art, also caused outrage after taking a gamble with the wedding gown.
He decided to save cash by designing the dress himself - much to the anger of Maria's mum.
The cleavage-boosting crop top and voluminous skirt reduced Maria to tears.
"Oh my God, it's nuts, the top is awful, it looks pink. I don't know what he has done," she sobbed.
"It looks so cheap."
Maria's mother Paula ended up giving Ryan a piece of her mind: "What are you playing at? What is the joke?
"She looks like a belly dancer, it's awful. What do you think her dad will think when he sees her in that dress?"
He later admitted: "I am a risk taker and the risk with the dress didn't work, I cocked up."
Thanks to his cost-cutting ways, Ryan was able to splash £1,500 on a wild stag do in Marbella with his pals.
He defended his decision saying: "This is the only time I can do this as I am getting married soon."
Meanwhile, Maria bid farewell to singledom with a a twerking class in London and a meagre £150 bar tab.
Don't Tell The Bride airs Thursdays at 9pm on Sky 1 and NOW TV
