IT’S been more than 12 years since Lindsay Lohan showcased her innocent side in classic chick flick Mean Girls.
That’s 12 years since character Damian, dressed in an impressive Santa suit, uttered the now infamous ‘you to Glen Coco’ while handing out Christmas candy canes.
He was a cult character with classic one-liners such as ‘she doesn’t even go here’.
And the high school odd ball was played by a 26-year-old actor, Daniel Franzese.
Daniel’s 38 now – and on Monday he announced his engagement to his boyfriend Joseph Bradley Phillips, after a public Starbucks proposal.
But what does he look like now?
Well, you wouldn’t be alone if you walked past this former famous face in the street.
Apart from his signature cheeky grin, Daniel looks like nearly any other normal bloke.
He’s grown a beard, got engaged, and is apparently as addicted to Pokemon Go as the rest of the world.
Oh, and he’s still clinging onto the Mean Girls fame – but who can really blame him?
In recent years, Damian has appeared in American TV shows and done Broadway theatre performances.
He even made a brief appearance in Tom Cruise’s blockbuster hit War of the Worlds – as the National Guardsman.
Daniel also appeared in popular crime drama CSI, and his comedy video ‘s*** Italian’s moms say’ went viral.
According to IMDB, his trademark is mentioning his ‘nana’ in nearly all his films.
Remember when he told Tina Fey: “My nana takes my wig off when she’s drunk”?
Despite being declared ‘too gay to function’ in Mean Girls, Daniel didn’t actually publicly come out as gay until two years ago – although his family and friends already knew the truth.
He did so by writing a touching letter to his character Damian.
Daniel wrote: “You became an iconic character that people looked up to – I wished I’d had you as a role model when I was younger.
“There were industry people who had seen me play you in Mean Girls but never seen me read in an audition but still denied me to be seen for 'masculine' roles.
“Damian, you had ruined my life and I was really p***ed at you. I became celibate for a year and a half.
“I didn’t go to any gay bars, have any flings and I lied to anyone who asked if I was gay.
“I even brought a girl to the ‘Mean Girls’ premiere and kissed her on the red carpet, making her my unwitting beard. Meanwhile, I was still in the closet.

“Perhaps this will help someone else. I’m not afraid anymore. Of Hollywood, the closet or mean girls. Thank you for that, Damian. (And Tina.)"
