Savannah is a star of social media thanks to her round the world walk
Tom Turcich has already seen South America with his trusty canine by his side
IT'S been best paw forward for a man who has embarked on a walk around the world with his four-legged friend.
Tom Turcich, 27 adopted is canine pal, Savannah, a year ago when he spotted her on a trip to the southern United States.
The pair have been inseparable ever since and he has been documenting his walk cross the globe with her at his side.
Turcich has taken to to write about their adventures saying: “She’s been on the olfactory adventure of a lifetime. We walk every mile together and with the right paperwork crossing borders with her has been a breeze.”
He left his home in New Jersey, US in April, and has been doing a “five-year, seven-continent trek,” called The World Walkl.
So far he has made it to South America, and now has nearly 5,000 people following his journey.
He said; “Since leaving the States I’ve had a hell of an adventure.
“I’ve had to learn Spanish, climb the terrible mountains of Guatemala, sprint through the deserts of Honduras, and sleep in the Costa Rican rain forest.”
Continuing in posts on Reddit he esaid it hadn't all been a walk in the park: “There have been a few run-ins, but besides a shiv to the neck in Panama City nothing too serious.

"Mostly, I’m amazed how generous people are. I’m brought in by strangers far more often than I ever imagined.”
Most of his posts on social media feature Savannah - Wednesday he posted a pic of the pooch with "doggles" on: “Day 473. they’re not her favorite things to wear, but when the wind picks up and the sand starts flying the ‘doggles’ are going on."
He has been planning the trip since a close friend died aged 17 - and decided to save as hard as he could to see the world.
Turcich revealed: “Her death reordered my understanding of the world. I suddenly saw life as something fragile and fleeting.”
His journey has been made possible by Philadelphia Sign, a Jersey-based sign distributor and they assisted with the cash to complete the journey, as well as giving money for each mile he walks for a scholarship in honor of his late friend
