Do you still have Pokemon cards lying around the house? Dig them out because they could be worth thousands of pounds

It's time to find those old cards because people are willing to pay as much as £2000 for them

POKEMON were all the rage back in the 1990s and kids spent all their spare cash on the toys and cards.

Now, because of the recent revival of Pokemon GO, your old cards could now be worth a lot of money.

Collecting Pokemon cards was once a major obsession for Brits and playgrounds were full of kids swapping them and showing off their rare finds.

In those days, children would pester their parents for a £3 pack from the Base Set, Fossil and Jungle set as they hunted for the best Pokemon.

And even if you were unlucky with the cards, you could still go to swapping events like Chips in Stockton or check our your local stalls.

When the trend ended most people binned their cards, but since the popularity of Pokemon GO has rocketed, so has the worth of your old packs.

Although it is pretty unlikely, if you have somehow managed to keep a sealed box from the original release of Pokemon you could soon be cashing in.

And if by some chance you have a first edition box then you could be raking in as much as £7,600.

Base set card packs - Between £20 and 200

If you have a sealed booster pack you could sell it on eBay for as much as £20-30 and if you have a first edition pack you could be looking at £300 per pack.

And PSA graded packs could get you around £400 or more.

This is the card everyone wanted as a kid and it's still one of the most valuable now.

If you have one it could fetch between £40 and £4,000.

Although, unfortunately, unless yours is kept in a protective case, it's not likely to reach the top end of the range.

Rare Blastoise - Between £30 and £1,200

If you were lucky enough to get a Blastoise card you could be looking at anything between £30 and £1,200

Another rare fan's favourite is a Blastoise card which could be cashed in for as much as £1,200 in mint condition.

But if, like most kids, yours is slightly worn, you're looking at around £30.

Complete Base Set - Between £100 to £2,000

If you have the complete set you could be cashing it in for anywhere between £100 to £2,000

The ultimate sign of a Pokemon fan was to have the complete set, in a plastic walleted book and if you still have yours you could be quids in.

The condition of the cards will effect the price but if they're pristine you could be looking at around £2,000 and you can add £50-£60 on that if you have the original folder.
