WHAT A CHOPPER

Flash group of teen lads arrive at their end of year prom in Doncaster in a HELICOPTER

Alex and his two friends impressed fellow pupils when they touched down on the school grounds in a helicopter

A TEENAGER has said that he felt like James Bond after he touched down at his end of year prom in a helicopter.

Alex, 16, felt like 007 alongside his two friends Connor, 16, and Joe, 16, as the three of them posed in sunglasses next to the Robinson R22 Helicopter.

Alex, who donned a blue suit for the end of term bash, described his entrance as one of the best flights of his flying career.

Describing the experience, Alex said: "I honestly felt like James Bond - it could have been a scene from one of the movies.

"On route to the prom I had to rush ahead of a really black cloud so I also got to go a little bit faster than normal which was exciting.

"It was such a brilliant way to arrive - everyone was looking and pointing at us when we landed.

Alex added: "I think it was one of the best flights that I have done so far."

In true Bond-style a car had also been prepared at Sherburn Airfield, North Yorks., to transport the boys in case the weather took a turn for the worst.

But luckily it wasn't needed and the trio stole the show when they touched down at Hungerhill School in Doncaster, South Yorks.

Speaking about keeping the helicopter ride a secret, Alex said: "Well, we didn't know if it was going to happen because of the weather so I didn't really say anything.

"People knew obviously I had lessons and was a keen pilot - but no one thought I would turn up in a helicopter.

"But flying to my actual prom was an ambition which I have wanted to do for a long time."

He added: "Both Connor and Joe loved it - I think a lot of people were jealous when we arrived."
