From British country clothing to 1950s prom queen dresses… Taylor Swift’s changing style to suit her new man
Out with the old, in with the new! As if changing beau wasn't enough, Taylor needs a whole new wardrobe too
EVER since we saw pictures of Swifty and Tom Hiddleston strolling along the beach in matching jackets, we couldn’t help but notice…
This isn’t the first time the Shake It off singer has adapted her wardrobe to suit her boyfriend.
Tom Hiddleston
Dating: June 2016-present
Style: British country and quirky casual
The Internet has been melting in the weeks since it was revealed that Taylor Swift, 26, is dating actor Tom Hiddleston, 35.
Most pictures of the pair that have emerged show them cuddling up on a beach; her in over-sized jumpers, jeans and the same navy blue Barbour-style jacket as her new beau.
Since they’ve been hitting the streets of Rome they’ve both smartened up and, just like Tom, Taylor has opted to wear a white shirt and grey shoes.
They’ve even got matching RayBans sunnies!
Calvin Harris
Dated: February 2015 – June 206
Style: Chic, classic and sexy.
When she dated superstar producer and DJ, Calvin, 32 Taylor’s outfits were decidedly sexier.
She wore crop-tops with sexy mini skirts and towering high heels on many a date-night, chiming in with Calvin’s own sleek and sexy style of blazers, fitted jumpers and smart trousers.
They both wore tight black (him in leather, her in lace) to a Haim concert in April 2015.
And here she is, matching her boyfriend yet again when the couple wore grey tops and black bottoms in Nashville in March 2015.
Harry Styles
Dated: December 2012 – January 2013
Style: British music muse
Flat brogues, pea coats and indigo jeans – in the short but sweet time Taylor dated Harry the two could have shared the same wardrobe.
Like here, when the young lovebirds went strolling in Central Park in December 2012.
The One Direction heartthrob, 22, is known for his love of British fashion, always at the front-row of Burberry shows.
And Taylor was perfect as his muse, adopting a style vibe that could have fallen straight off Carnaby Street in the 1960s.
RELATED STORIES
Conor Kennedy
Dated: July-October 2012
Style: 1950s prom queen
It was the summer of love in 2012 when Taylor had a fling with Conor, at the time an 18-year-old high school senior.
The short-lived relationship was said to have ended because she ‘came on too strong’.
According to sources, Taylor was ‘obsessed’ with the Kennedy family – Conor is the grandson of U.S. politician Robert F. Kennedy, who was the brother of former President John F. Kennedy.
Now, obviously we don’t know whether this is true or not but judging by her wardrobe at the time she was certainly vying for a spot as a future Kennedy.
As you can see from her pretty but conservative buttoned up shirts and bellowing skirts, Tay-Tay was channelling some serious 1950s, reminiscent of former First Lady herself, Jackie Kennedy.
Joe Jonas
Dated: July-October 2008
Style: Whatever he wore
We’ll forgive Taylor here for not having quite come into her own in the style stakes during this time. After all, way back in 2008 she was merely breaking into the celebrity world.
Although, we believe this is where her habit of stealing her boyfriend’s style came from.
Back in the day, there were pictures of Taylor and ex-boyfriend Joe, now 26, wearing matching beanie hats and grungy black t-shirts (even though the photos have since been deleted).
Thankfully, at the 2008 MTV Music Video Awards, she didn’t copy Joe’s shiny white tux. Instead she opted for a shiny cream dress. Totally different…
