DURING Euro 2016 it’s safe to say that Wayne Rooney’s hair has been as volatile as his performance.
It’s no secret that the 30-year-old England skipper uses hair transplants to keep his locks luscious, but during the Three Lions tournament his bald spot has been ever-changing.
One minute his light brown barnet is thick and glossy, the next it's sparse and lifeless.
Here, we chart Rooney's disappearing (and then appearing) tresses...
As the striker stepped out of the Lowry Hotel in Manchester on 26 May in the lead up to Euro 2016, there were clear signs of balding.
Miraculously, just one day later, Rooney flaunted a fuller new hairdo while playing at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.
The ace sported bouncy boyband-like tresses during an England press conference at The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire on 1 June.
But his healthy mane wasn't around for long - on 9 June his eroding mop made a startling return.
Hair we go again… there was then no sign of Rooney’s receding hairline as he appeared at a press conference with Roy Hodgson on 10 June.
Away from the glare of the media, Rooney displayed a thinning, fluffy 'do while heading to training in France on 14 June.
Two days later, he was photographed warming up ahead of England's match against Wales with a thick quiff style.
His barnet appears a darker shade of brown on 19 June, during an appearance at a press conference, and more voluminous on top.

It seems gentleman prefers blonde. Rooney exits the pitch on 27 June displaying lighter hued tresses and thicker patches on the sides.
Rooney's scalp is clearly on show as he leaves a hotel in France on 28 June following England's defeat to Iceland.
A beauty expert believes Rooney's ever-changing bald spot may be because he's using a spray-on hair thickener.
Transplant surgeon Asim Shahmalak, of Crown Clinic, Manchester, told : "Wayne is a good advert for hair thickeners.
"He looks great when he is wearing it, but they come out when you shampoo your hair.

"So if you don't wear them all the time, you can end up with pictures like these."
Rooney, who reportedly spent £30,000 on hair transplants at a Harley Street clinic, needs two more operations to cover his mid-scalp and crown, according to Asim.
He added: "He still has a good covering of donor hair around the back and sides, so these problems can be rectified."
But thinning locks aren't the only problem Rooney's got at the moment...
