HOW many times have you been stuck in bed staring at the ceiling, desperate to sleep but unable to thanks to your noisy neighbours?

If that sounds family this story will probably strike a chord...

A guy called Joe came up with an ingenious way to get revenge after the people who lived beneath him started to be irritating.

He explained on : "Soooo backstory. My downstairs neighbours were d****.

"To the point where even tip toeing around my apt past 10 PM would elicit banging on the ceiling (floor?) and eventually escalated to the cops being called b/c my washer machine was being run at 9 PM."

Sounds pretty annoying, but this kind of thing is bound to happen when you live in a flat you may be thinking.

Well, not if you're Joe.

This cunning guy decided to get his own back on his neighbours and he found a terrifyingly ingenious way to do it.

Joe found out the people below him had Bluetooth speakers. That might not sound particularly exciting, but they hadn't bothered to secure him.

This meant anyone could use their phone to them and play music... which is exactly what Joe did.

"I've synced my phone to the speaker at 3am on the dot, and start blasting the creepiest sound track I can find for exactly six seconds," he shared.

"In completely unrelated news, I'm pretty sure my apartment complex is about to have a vacancy."

Just a week-and-a-half later Joe had further news, revealing his dastardly plan had worked.

He included a picture of a moving truck directly below his neighbour, using the caption to ponder whether he'd "crossed a line or two".

It seems the answer to that was no, with Joe later stating: "Despite my initial misgivings, I regret nothing."

The post has received a lot of interest, with a number of Imgur users flocking to give their view on it.

Gratch2 suggested: "Go to their new place at 3am, just to f*** with their head."

Another wondered why the neighbours hadn't tried unplugging their speakers, while one suggested the behaviour was "pretty mean".

ArchAngel9789 suggested: "Should have called the cops on them.

"You know for blasting creepy s*** at 3 am. And also to avoid suspicion."
