Buzzfeed has compiled the funniest tweets, which include mums trying to be cool by listening to trendy DJs, telling their kids to go outside with a jacket and leaving them in the supermarket.

A user called @GbekssOMO wrote: “When you’ve said ‘okay’ and your mum's still chatting bareeeee”, alongside a screen shot of EastEnders' Ian Beale rolling his eye.

Another comical meme posted online by @FemaleStruggles features a photograph of Michelle Obama giving a speech while her daughter looks on straight-faced with the caption: “When your mom is bragging about you and she says something that’s not necessarily true.”

Some social media fans revealed their mum’s are always right – even if they don’t want to admit it.
