Furious debate sparked after husband says women should wash their hands BEFORE going to the loo
According to him, the point only applies to females... because men 'don't touch their bits' when using the toilet
A HUSBAND who accused his wife of being un-hygienic for not washing her hands BEFORE going to the loo has sparked a furious online debate.
The conversation kicked off on Mumsnet earlier this week and, sadly for the husband, the internet does not appear to be on his side.
Mallorcan Mummy asked the internet who out of the couple was being un-reasonable, saying: “He insists that it doesn’t make sense for females to only wash their hands after going to the toilet.
“They should wash them before too. This is, according to him, as we will be transferring germs to our lady bits if we don’t wash our hands before.
“I did point out that most of us use toilet paper so we don’t actually come into contact with our bits.
“Note: This only applies to females apparently. Men don’t touch the ‘important bit’ of their apparatus when they wee.
“Obviously if they do a no.2, same applies as above.
“So, am I a disgusting un-clean person, or is he being unreasonable?”
Amused by the husband’s request, Cauliflower Balti wrote: “Who the feck touches their foof being weeing?
“God’s honest truth – I’ve never had a crafty w*** before a wee. I promise you.”
Most agreed that washing after weeing is a MUST, but cleaning before is un-necessary unless you’ve been doing something to make them dirty.
Mrs Charles Brandon said: “I was in a children’s hospital a couple of weeks ago and a lady left the cubicle and walked straight out the door.
“Not washing at all. The other mum waiting and I had judgey pants hoiked so far they were painful! I wash after, only before if mucky/chillies.”
Others were shocked by the husband’s idea that his misguided logic would not work both ways.
President CJ Cregg said: “But… but… he actively touches his willy when going to the loo, we don’t actually touch our bits?!”
Jolinda, a science graduate, added: “Who holds it for your husband when he goes for a wee then?”
And Penfold 007 said: “So he has no need to wash his hands before touching his ‘unimportant penis’ before having a wee but you have to wash your hands? He is weird.”
Others said they would wash before inserting a tampon, or having sex.
Cake Up Wall said: “I always do before emptying my mooncup. As I would expect anyone who planned to have a rummage around in my vagina.”
Living in Midnight agreed, saying: “I’m convinced people who say their mooncup gives them thrush aren’t washing their hands before removing/inserting.”
And Women Are Like Teabags said: “I however always request he washes his willy before any sexy time, if oral is going to be involved then that is a demand.
“I've been known to stop everything and make him go wash it.”
Perhaps embarrassed by the negative reaction, the un-named man is now NOT said to be happy about his wife airing their personal laundry on the web.
Mallorcan Mummy admitted: “Yes, he is weird. And now cross with me (unreasonably!) for asking this on here.
“I think he's embarrassed that all these anonymous people are discussing his hand washing habits.
“Where I am, I've seen so many local women leave public toilets without washing their hands. And there's not even a hint of embarrassment about it.”
She also joked: “Yes, yes, he does have it all backwards. This happens a lot. Wishing I hadn’t started this thread now… I’m starting to look at DH (dear husband) in a different light.”
