Plucking hell

This is why you can’t get your eyebrows to grow (if you’re wanting bushy ones like Cara)

Beauty expert Sania Vucetaj explains the one simple reason why you're struggling to achieve that thick luscious look

PEOPLE often say fashion comes back around every 20 years and that seems to be the case with eyebrows too.

The 1980s were a time of bushy eyebrows, with Brooke Shields at the forefront of the trend, but when the 1990s came around it suddenly became cool to pluck your eyebrows as thin as humanly possible.

As many women will know, the eyebrow trend of the 90s was to pluck your eyebrows and make them as thin as possible

Now, it appears as though bold 'brows are back and everyone is wanting theirs to look just like model Cara Delevigne's but many are finding it difficult to achieve the look.

Unfortunately, just like all hair, eyebrows don't tend to grow back very quickly, so for those of you who did go plucking mad, thick brows can be a challenge.

But, that doesn't mean all is lost, because according to beauty expert and eyebrow guru Sania Vucetaj there is one simple trick which can help you regrow.

Sania warns that using moisturisers, gels, sunscreens and foundations can be dangerous for your eyebrows and might be hindering their growth.

Speaking to Pop Sugar, she said, "We tend to treat the brows as skin, but they're actually hair follicles, and if we wouldn't put something on our scalp, why would we put it on our brows?"

In theory it makes a lot of sense as clogging up our hair follicles with creams and gels is unlikely to help our eyebrows grow.

And Sania went on to say, "clients who are careful to avoid any lotions have noticed tremendous growth — it just takes patience!"

However fear now because if youre trying to grow your eyebrows back you just have to steer clear of putting gels and moisturisers in your brows

Last week, a mum-to-be went to extreme lengths to look after her eyebrows and incredibly had them tinted while having a C-section.

Make-up blogger Mollie Harwood, from Australia, decided to take a wander around the hospital when she was told her caesarean was delayed.

She came across a beauty salon and decided to get her eyebrows tinted as she had “forgot” to do it before she went into the maternity ward.

Mollie posted a clip of her with dye on her brows on her Mollie Makeup  with the caption, ‘What to do while you wait at the hospital’.

Speaking in the video, she said: “I'm literally sitting around just waiting, so I decided to go for a wander in the hospital and I found a beauty salon, and the one thing I forgot to do before I came into hospital was get my eyebrows tinted, so, tada."
