A body-obsessed man from Manchester has gone to extreme lengths to get rid of his ‘clown feet’, using a painful ancient Chinese binding method to shrink them in size.
In just two years, Ryan has reduced his feet from a size 10 to a six-and-a-half, driven by his desire to look better in short, ankle-grazing trousers.
Through doing this, the 25-year-old has PERMANENTLY damaged and disfigured his feet – and is now at an increased risk of developing arthritis, an ailment which normally affects the older generation.
Despite this, the sales assistant told Channel 5 show Body Freaks that the bold move was worth it.
Ryan said: “I have always been obsessed with fashion and loved suiting and tailoring.
“I am pretty body obsessed, I have to admit. I would do anything to look the way I want to look.

“I wear really short trousers. When I looked down at my feet, they weren’t in proportion – they were a lot bigger than I wanted them to be.
“Especially if you wear a pointed shoe, they looked like clown feet.”
In his quest for the ‘perfect’ lower body, Ryan bound his feet every night – in an excruciating form of self-mutilation which forces your toes to turn in on themselves.
And now Ryan is so embarrassed by his deformed toes that he normally keeps them hidden from view.
Speaking on camera, Ryan told a friend: “It doesn’t feel nice, it’s not while you’re doing your binding it’s afterwards.
“It f*****g hurts, I’ve got cramp in my feet and I need to crack them.”
After revealing his toes to a friend for the very first time, she told him: “That’s not right.”
However, unperturbed by the reaction, Ryan responded: “But can you imagine my feet being three, four sizes bigger than that? I’d look like a f*****g clown.”
Ryan’s feet are now so deformed that they do not fit properly into shoes.
He explained: “I always wear socks at the end of my foot, to make my foot fit properly in my shoe – because they are misshapen.”
The practice is known to cause arthritis, but Ryan says at his age this is a price he is willing to pay for tiny toes.
He added: “I’m 25, arthritis sounds like an old thing. I could get it, and it could be awful. But if I get it, I get it.”
