The sky’s the limit at St Annes International Kite Festival
Set on the Lancashire resort's beach on July 30 and 31, the kites on display include a 98ft octopus and flying cows
EVEN if the skies above Lytham St Annes are grey, July's annual Kite Festival will brighten things up.
Taking place on the beach of the Lancashire resort on July 30 and 31, the unusual kites on display include a 98ft octopus, flying cows, dog, hippos and the world's largest teddy bear.
Children can bring along their teddies to take part in a teddy bear parachute drop - all participating toys will get a certificate of bravery.
Samba Sunday will see Brazilian-inspired music, drums and a carnival atmosphere.
Stay at Ribby Hall Village, a 5H holiday resort just ten minutes from the beaches of Blackpool and Lytham.
There are modern pine lodges with hot tubs and spacious cottages, while the resort has swimming pools, indoor soft play and an outdoor adventure playground, as well as evening entertainment.
BRIT tourists are being warned to take extra care on balconies abroad.
So far this year three people have been seriously hurt in falls - and the peak season hasn't even started. And last year there were three fatalities. The Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Abta have joined to urge us to be more safety aware.
Abta's Nikki White said: "A moment of thoughtlessness can have a devastating impact. By working with the FCO, Abta members and local authorities, we hope to help holidaymakers use their balconies safely."
