You’ll never guess what Justin Hawkins from The Darkness looks like now

The singer's wildest days are well behind him, after he was pictured looking surprisingly normal

THE Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins recently hit the headlines after having a high profile reunion with his lost cat, but the oddest thing about it all is how different the rocker looks now.

It's fair to assume that the singer's wildest days are well behind him, after he was pictured looking surprisingly normal - nothing like the eye-catching look he used to rock.

The I Believe in a Thing Called Love singer has swapped his flamboyant look for a more geeky getup, taming his once-wild hair into a shorter style.

And the legendary frontman looks unrecognisable compared to his earlier rocking days.

Justin, 41, was snapped on Saturday during an unlikely reunion with his cat, Cully, who went missing at Justin's former home in Suffolk in 2013.

After years of assuming he'd never see her again, the rock star has been reunited with the ten-year-old feline after she was handed in to Cats Protection's Anglia Coastal Branch last month.

During a routine microchip scan, workers at the animal rescue centre were stunned to realise the stray cat had an owner - the singer and lead guitarist from The Darkness.

And Justin was more than happy to take a break from his hectic tour schedule in Switzerland to return to the UK after being contacted by Branch Coordinator Delphine Wood.

He said: "Losing Cully was heart-breaking for me and my family but I always knew in my heart that she was still alive – I could just feel it.

"She's always loved the great outdoors. I periodically checked in with the relevant databases and kept my details up-to-date because I knew this day would come.

"Thanks to Delphine's terrific work, Cully can come home at last."

Delphine said: "We get lots of strays and sadly many are not microchipped, so we're always pleased if we find one.

"When the owner's details came up, I thought the name sounded familiar as my boyfriend is a fan.

"I was just relived there was a phone number and it was up-to-date. I contacted Justin and he was so thrilled to hear Cully was alive, fit and well.

"It's always really lovely to give someone the news that a long-lost pet has been found, and it was clear how much Cully meant to him.

"This story goes to show why microchipping is so important – had Cully not been microchipped we would never have been able to reunite her, and Justin would never have known what had happened to his much-loved pet."

Cully is set to soon fly out to Switzerland, where her rockstar owner now lives.

And Justin bought two microchip scanners for the Cats Protection branch as a thank you for reuniting him with his beloved pet.
