Frumpy frocks and crazy hats: Princess Beatrice and Eugenie’s style blunders revealed
The posh duo just can’t seem to get it right when it comes to glamming up for royal bashes
IT SEEMS that money really can’t buy you style.
Princess Beatrice and her younger sister Eugenie just can’t get it right when it comes to glamming up for royal bashes.
The posh duo have fallen foul to the curse of the frumpy formal wear – think crazy hats, ill-fitting frocks and bizarre coats.
Beatrice, 27, sparked a fashion backlash on social media today after donning an outlandish monochrome outfit to the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations in London.
The seventh in line to the throne opted for a £2,995 hand-embroidered Burberry coat, which was likened to a Star Wars Storm Trooper, Alice in Wonderland character the Queen of Spades and a Pearly Queen.
Eugenie, 26, fared slightly better by stepping out in a bright red midi dress, complete with cut out detailing around the bust and shoulders.
The Duke of York’s daughters became the laughing stock of the fashion world in 2011 when they rocked up to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding in jaw-dropping designs.
Beatrice donned a stunning taupe Valentino Haute Couture dress and matching coat but unfortunately all eyes were drawn to her ludicrous headpiece.
The statement hat, created by famed designer Philip Treacy, resembled a giant pink pretzel and became the butt of Internet memes.
Eugenie failed to hit the fashion high notes in her gaudy blue and green Vivienne Westwood suit that seemed to strangle her around the waist and bust.
