Oh my god!

There’s something very unusual in the garden of this beautiful £2million Grade II listed house

The Rib, a multi-million pound property, can be found in Wells, Somerset, boasting a unique feature at the bottom of its garden

THIS is the stunning family home which has recently gone on the market with an unusual selling point - it has a cathedral  at the bottom of the garden.

The Rib, a Grade II listed property, can be found in Wells, Somerset, and dates back to the early 14th century.

The 700-year-old home was originally built for clergy working at Wells Cathedral, which can be found at the bottom of the property's back garden.

And the property's new tenants will need to be fans of choir singing, as the Cathedral is still home to Wells Cathedral Choir.

The Rib has retained all of its original charm, featuring exposed wooden beams and stone flooring, although it will set you back £2m - making it one of the most expensive homes on the market in Somerset.

But it certainly earns its worth, boasting five bedrooms, four reception rooms and three bathrooms, in addition to 0.7 acres of private gardens.

The property has been gradually expanded since its construction 700-years-ago, with extra wings and blocks added by residents over the last few centuries.

Located in the centre of Wells, England's smallest city, the property is being sold by estate agents at Knight Frank.

James McKillop, from the country department at Knight Frank, said interest in the charming freehold property is running high, despite the hefty multi-million pound price tag.

He said: "Very rarely do we come across a home which is so special.

“Many Grade II listed homes are modernised and a lot for the time it detracts from the originality and the feeling is lessened but this is lovely.

“It has electricity, heating and water but at times you feel like you are in the 17th century.

"It is the unspoilt nature of The Rib which makes it so special.

“Estate agents love to use the word rare, but we have looked for a while to find a freehold home like The Rib next to a cathedral of Wells’ stature and it is very rare.”

He added that the home is in an idyllic setting, boasting a sunny garden within earshot of the nearby choir.

He said: “You can sit on a bench in the garden with a G&T in your hand and listen to the choir - it really is a special place and you are on the right side of the cathedral to benefit from the sun.”
