Whopper shocker

Burger King’s “hellish” new mash-up menu item is a burger AND a BURRITO in one

Fans have taken to Twitter to blast the new creation, which is currently being trialled in the States

BURGER King have divided opinion by unveiling an unconventional new mash-up – the Whopperrito.

The unusual culinary creation comes as the fast food giant tries to “improve” on their signature Whopper burger by wrapping it in a soft tortilla and converting it into a burrito.

That’s a wrap… this unusual mashup has divided opinion online

The usual flame-grilled beef is now being offered in a tortilla wrap, accompanied by cheese, tomato, mayonnaise, onions and pickles as part of the Mexican twist on the American classic.

But burrito-loving Brits may have to contain our excitement for a while longer, as the Whopperrito is, so far, only being trialled in Pennsylvania, although it may just make its way across the Atlantic if it sells well in the States.

However, whilst some fast food fans are foaming at the mouth, others aren’t so eager to try the unusual creation, with one man asking on Twitter: “What kind of fresh new hell is this?”

Another unimpressed critic asked: “What the HELL is a Whopperrito????

“Y’all getting out of hand.”

Another joker said: “Would you travel back in time to kill the baby Whopperrito?”

Another harsh critic said: “Brb, now vomiting at the thought of the ‘Whopperrito’.”

But not everyone was so repulsed at the thought of a burger burrito mash-up, with one or two comments emerging in defence of the controversial creation.

One person said: “Seriously tho the new Whopperrito is bomb af,” whilst another claimed they would “eat the hell out of the Whopperrito.”

This isn’t the first time a fast food giant has left fans feeling unsure about an unusual new menu item.

Last month, McDonalds divided opinion by unveiling their latest, and perhaps strangest, creation – a green burger.

The firm has been innovating ever since the first store opened in 1948, but burger buffs are understandably reluctant to tuck in to the bright green burger, which has left fans feeling a bit green around the gills.

The special burger was only released in China to promote the upcoming Angry Birds movie, along with an equally strange-looking red counterpart.
