Here’s how to turn off those annoying notifications on your iPhone
FED up with people judging you for having 6,319 unread emails?
Sick of the snide remarks about how many calls you've missed?
Or just plain annoyed by the scores of notifications the Facebook app insists need your attention?
Don't worry about it, as there's actually a clever way you can rid yourself of those irritating red dots forever.
And it's so super simple, even the least 'techy' of you will be able to master it in minutes.
First click on the 'Settings' app and select 'Notifications'.
Next, tap where it says 'Sort Manually' - or 'Sort Order' then 'Manual', depending on how recently you updated your iPhone software.
This gives you the ability to choose which applications you don't want to receive notifications from by swiping 'Allow Notifications' to 'off'.
It's as simple as that.

While you're at it, free up some space on your phone by swiping down from the top of the screen to open up the Notification Centre.
This then shows you all the most recent alerts to appear on your phone, whether it's Whatsapp messages, updates from the App Store or incoming news from your Sun mobile app.
Where you see the name of the app, tap the 'X' (close button) to the right-hand side and then select 'Clear' to remove them.
To remove notifications on an Android device, there is a similar process.
Go to 'Settings'/'Application Manager' and then select 'Badge Provider'.
Choose 'Force Stop' and then 'Disable' on the apps you don't want to get notifications from.
Once you've restarted your device you'll notice the changes come into effect.
