Strait-laced women’s mag Good Housekeeping features sex toy survey testing 27 different models in latest issue
The 131-year-old lifestyle bible is more normally associated with cake recipes and decorating tips
STRAIT-laced women’s mag Good Housekeeping has a sex toy survey in its latest issue.
A panel of women spent two weeks testing 27 different vibrators.
Readers are more used to seeing the Good Housekeeping Institute logo on kitchen gadgets and supermarket food reviews.
But July’s issue of the 131-year-old lifestyle magazine, on sale next Tuesday, features results of the tests by 270 women aged 31 to 76.
They voted a £44.99 Love Honey Desire vibrator as the best.
The “small and discreet” pebble-shaped toy was a great hit with nine out of ten testers, the mag says.
The runner-up was the Ruby Glow, designed for use while seated, and the RO-Duet which had “intense vibrations” and was voted best for couples.
But the magazine – also normally associated with cake recipes and decorating tips – says it is no surprise it now tests sex toys.
Good Housekeeping found that more than half of women aged 31 to 76 own a vibrator and 81 per cent were happy to talk openly about them.
Deputy editor Michelle Hather said: “Vibrators are less taboo and more accessible than ever.
The Ruby Glow vibrator was voted the second-best on offer in Good Housekeeping
“The internet is definitely driving an increase in sex toy use, as people are able to order everything from pleasure condoms to vibrators from the privacy of their own homes.
“There are many different options available to choose from which is why the Good Housekeeping Institute has been testing them to find the best on the market so women can make an informed choice.”
The sex test is in the July edition of the normally genteel magazine, on sale next Tuesday, May 31).
