Lad’s first date goes badly wrong… and he messages his mates every step of the way
Warning: This text exchange might put you off the world of dating for your entire life
A BLOKE was stoked to be going for dinner with a hot blonde, but he never expected his date to descend into such chaos.
Before he turned up at the date the lad proudly texted his mates, saying: “I’m out tonight lads, going on a date with that girl from Saturday."
As he headed into the restaurant in Soho, his pals, who were all gathered together on a Whatsapp group called Football, asked the Casanova to keep them posted.
One hour later, the boys received their first update on the romantic meeting.
Unfortunately, the not-so-happy couple’s meal wasn’t going very smoothly as the lad snapped a photo of his date engrossed on her phone.
Sending over the awkward over-the-table shot to his friends, the man admitted: “Well this is going down faster than the Titanic.
“RIP. Sinking ship”
As the bloke sent over some falling asleep emojis, his friends couldn’t help but laugh at his cringey predicament.
Five minutes later, it seemed like his situation hadn’t improved, as the singleton asked his pals: “No idea what to do, shall I leave?”
At first, his mates try and give him some advice, telling him that it’d be a bad idea to try and walk out of the restaurant.
One of his football friends suggested: “Can you not crack some jokes? Make things a bit interesting.”
Another added: “Or ask if she’s had a haircut and ruffle her hair.”
Deciding that the date was a lost cause, the prankster decided to take his friends advice.
Recording the woman’s reaction, he ruffles her hair in the least romantic way possible, before sending the clip to his mates.
As the blonde goes to “powder her nose”, the lothario’s pals decide that it’s time to make the meal even more awkward.
One of them dates him: “Bet you can’t take her fork off her when she’s eating her food.”
The other Whatsapp texters say: “Nooooo she’s gonna slap him” and: “I don’t think he can do it. He’s too soft”.
Not wanting to bow down from the challenge, the nightmare dater snatches the fork from the lady while she’s in the middle of eating.
The woman gets increasingly wound up as the meal turns less and less romantic.
As the hilariously cruel jokes continue, she’s asked questions such as: “Have you ever eaten a toenail after cutting it off?”
Finally, two hours after the date first begun, the woman finally walks out of the restaurant in horror.
It seems that the man putting his feet on the table is the final straw, as he records her grabbing her bag and coat and heading out of the diner.
There’s no doubt that the football lad wasn’t too gutted about the woman being on her phone for the whole date, as he did find a way to amuse himself.
Since the side-splittingly awkward Whatsapp exchange was posted onto Imgur, it’s been viewed a staggering 165,000 times.
The majority of commenters couldn’t help but laugh at the embarrassing dating blunder.
Despite this, not everyone was impressed with the lad’s behaviour.
One commenter pointed out: “She wasn’t the only one on the phone the whole time”, while another added: “I feel this girl didn’t deserve this”.
Another said: “To me they both seem like immature brats.
“One is desperately trying to impress his friends, while the other one can't keep off her toys.”
