‘When your baby gets hungry… you feed it!’: Inspirational mum posts wedding breastfeeding snap
Naomi Jael posted a photo of her feeding 10-month-old TJ
A MUM has gone viral after posting an heartwarming photo of her breastfeeding her baby at a wedding.
Naomi Jael, from Germany, uploaded the snap on Instagram, which shows her feeding her 10-month-old son TJ while she laughs in her evening dress.
Underneath the photo, she defiantly posted: "When you are at a wedding, wear fancy dresses and high heels and your baby gets hungry, well... you give no s***s and feed the kid!"
The photo has since been 'liked' over 5,000 times and shared by other parenting accounts from around the world.
The reaction was overwhelmingly positive, with users posting kind comments from across the globe.
One woman wrote: "'I love this picture it's beautiful/funny and truly just plain inspiring and it represents what breastfeeding should be. This picture just makes me want to be your friend lol."
But some users were uncomfortable with the idea of breastfeeding in public, causing Naomi to hit back at her critics.
One critic commented: "I have no problem with breast feeding itself or "nourishing a child"... It is just something that doesn't need to be seen in standard public settings.
"Using "it is natural" is poor/weak excuse, since there are many bodily functions that are natural, but people don't expose due to societal norms. There is less and less respect for modesty and other peoples values."
But courageous Naomi simply posted: Whoever gets mad about this... I also fed my son at the church ceremony IN the church.
Here in Germany people don't get mad about it."
She added: "It is NORMAL. Nothing rude or bad about it. This is why I have breasts! 'Cause God gave me boobs for feeding my babies."
Australian mum Haddas Ancliffe also went viral in March after posting a similar picture of her feeding her son, Jonah.
Her humorous snap showed her enjoying a drink while breastfeeding her son, with the caption: "Just me and my baby having a drink (Gotta do what you gotta do, wedding or not) #normalizebreastfeeding.”
At the time, she said: “At first I couldn’t decide if I should post it but now, the more I look at it, the more I want to share it.
"I know I’ve talked about it before but I really do love breastfeeding and I’m so passionate about it.
"I’m happy to be able to say I’m confident enough now to ignore people’s stares and just enjoy bonding with my baby.
"I wish moments like these could last forever.”
