Working hols to do some good

THE National Trust has some great ideas for getting out of the house and feeling good about yourself.

On one of its working holidays you can roll up your sleeves for a beach clean or join the Ranger teams and find out more about the vital conservation work they do. This includes “bracken bashing” and drystone walling.

If wildlife is more your thing you can take part in a BioBlitz survey at one of the National Trust sites, finding and recording as many different plants and animals as possible.

For those who would like to really get stuck in, the Trust offers the opportunity to spend a few days in the fresh air, helping with tasks such as wildlife surveys and landscape maintenance.

They are a great way to meet like-minded people and learn new skills, all in beautiful countryside.
