BEER WEIGH GO

Ex-soldier’s staggering 2 stone weight loss – after ‘drinking only BEER and giving up solid food for Lent’

Del Hall last ate solid food three weeks ago but admits he feels great despite consuming up to five pints every day

ARMY veteran Del Hall has lost a remarkable two stone in 20 days by consuming a beer-only diet.

While most people decide to quit eating chocolate or even cut down their booze intake for Lent, Hall is doing the complete opposite and swigs up to five craft beers per day.

The sales director – who now works for a beer company in Cincinnati, Ohio – took his inspiration from 17th century Bavarian monks who would brew their own beer and fast for 40 days.

The last food Hall consumed was a short rib grilled sandwich three weeks ago but now his daily routine consists of cracking open his first beverage around midday.

Speaking to The Sun, the 43-year-old said: “I feel great. I feel so much better than when I was eating a standard American diet. Body fat is the perfect source of fuel for our bodies.

“Normally I have my first beer when normal folk eat lunch, around noon or 1pm. I also have water and a small black coffee everyday but no dairy and no sugar.

“I don’t typically eat breakfast in the morning and I don’t have any hunger anymore. In the last week I’ve had no hunger.”

While the weight continues to fall off Hall, he admits he has to consciously limit how much he is consuming because even just one beer can make him feel tipsy.

He added: “Beers are affecting me a lot more, my tolerance isn’t nearly what it was.

“I’ve been drinking for 30 years and I’m quite large, six foot, two inches tall and 290lb (21st).

“So I could really put away some pints. I actually feel one beer now. So I try not to be intoxicated all the time, my limit is five pints in a day.”

Hall further revealed that he doesn’t see the idea as a diet but more of a personal challenge.

Despite aims to lose a staggering 50lbs by the end of the 40 days, there’s “no chance” he would recommend the idea to anyone else.

He said: “My target is to make it, it’s a personal challenge. It had nothing to do with weight loss.

“Going into it I thought that I may lose 40lbs but now I’m already down 26 and i’m not even half way through. I may lose 50 who knows?

“There’s no way, there’s not a chance (of recommending it). I’m in a very unique situation to do this because everything is at my disposal. I added it up this morning, I’ll probably save 600 dollars on food over the course of a month.”
